1

Students must complete through the second semester of a first year language course or equivalent (Check the catalog for details of this option.)

2

The history department strongly encourages students considering graduate school to minor in at least one world language.

3

Students must meet with the Director of Internship and Placement at least two terms before beginning their internship.

If a student chooses to use major requirements to count also as General Education requirements, the number of elective hours will be increased accordingly.

Students may choose a focus (at least 12 credits) in American, European (Ancient, Medieval, and Modern) or global history (see catalog for choices).

Most financial aid packages stipulate 12 credits/semester; Minnesota state grants are reduced when credit load falls below 15 credits/semester. (Interim credits may be split between fall and spring for state grant purposes only.)
