As with all aspects of the BUILD program, transitions related to transportation are intentional. Students are continuously working toward a greater level of independence through instruction, practice opportunities, and support from mentors to assist them in building their skills and independence. Students start the program at level 1 and typically advance transportation levels one semester at a time. However, progress with specific areas/skills or policy violations can result in a change in levels that could be adjusted in monthly intervals. Students who would like to have a car on campus must request an appeal through Safety & Security and request an exception through BUILD regarding the transportation levels if not on Level 4.
